Saffron cake recipe


 Saffron cake is a delicious and aromatic cake that is perfect for special occasions. Here is a recipe for making a saffron cake:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1/4 tsp saffron threads, crushed and dissolved in 2 tbsp hot milk
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan and line it with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  4. Add the saffron-milk mixture, whole milk, and vanilla extract, and mix well.

  5. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.

  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  10. Dust the top of the cake with powdered sugar.
